Simon Quinn

FIRED UP PEOPLE
Simon Quinn is a professional actor, writer, director and lyricist. Training and education includes Birmingham Theatre School, University of Wolverhampton and Staffordshire University.
He is the founder of Fired Up Theatre and was also the co-founder member of Urban Voice Theatre Company.
He has acted in several productions with those organisations, as well as leading on, acting in and directing productions for and on behalf Gazebo Theatre-in-Education, Belmont Arts Services, Swan Theatre (youth) Worcester, Assembly Rooms Tamworth, Music-Acting-Dance, Stagecoach, Mac –Birmingham , Midland Actors Theatre and Spotlight Youth.

Performance work has included productions at Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham NIA and Birmingham NEC.

Mal Dewhirst
Joint Artistic Director - Literature
Mal Dewhirst is a poet, writer and filmmaker who as Staffordshire Poet Laureate developed poetry into performance through his commissions on Quadrophenia, Colin Grazier Enigma and 23.
Mal has been poet in residence in a town market and an archaeological dig, his work has been published in many magazines and journals and also appeared on BBC Radio and Radio Wildfire.
He has written tourism guides for local councils bringing his poetic voice to attract new tourists to the towns and churches of North Warwickshire.
He is also responsible as Project Director for the Polesworth Poets Trail, which has twenty seven poems permanently displayed in the landscape around the town of Polesworth and Pooley Country Park
He is a regular reader on the Midlands poetry scene and was part of the Coventry Cork Literature exchange in 2011, performing readings in Cork City and Limerick.
Mal is a well established workshop leader in Creative Writing and is an experienced Project Manager in the arts. He is very active in the theatre through his role as Joint Artistic Director for Fired Up Theatre where he is keen to bring new meaningful writing to new audiences.
